Big City Exile are a band from Newcastle, Australia who I heard as part of the latest Triple J Unearthed competition, which is where I have linked this track. The song starts out as a pretty standard indie-rock workout but its the sharp changes up and down in tempo and intensity that make it interesting. I also dig the blissed out, uplifting ending.
I also heard from a friend up in Sydney that their live show is pretty sharp so I'm hoping to catch them at the first possible opportunity.
