This is the archive of gabba.cc, one of the first mp3 blogs.
Greetings, long time since I've checked out the gabba, its been very quiet but still some good stuff here. In honor of the recently released 8! volume "Masters of the universe 2" I thought I'd upload a track from it. Apparently this one guy is from my hometown Oslo too so props to him for that :)

As we soon leave the sinking ship of 2007, here's to hoping Gabba is not, and that it still has a lot of great music to bring us in 2008. Also, I am sure that it will always be a whole lot 'cooler than thou' :)

This is from the wonderful Fun While It Lasted part 2 compilation, where you will find many other twee indie pop gems.

Just got the 8BP050 compilation in the post today - its great.

From the site:
Dedicated to new advances with old machines, 8BITPEOPLES celebrates its 50th release with 8BP050, a special 50-artist compilation capturing the current exciting moment of radical and explosive evolution in the chiptune scene.

As you would expect with 50 artists, and a bonus disc, the compilation is varied, with everything from noisy and glitchy to cute and fuzzy. This one is definitely of the latter kind...

I heard this track on the radio and it made me want to dance around in the living room - this is fun, tongue-in-cheek, lo-fi bitrock, sounds like the soundtrack to a fantastic game or something.

Apparently these guys are pretty big in Sweden but this is the first I've heard of them, so don't know how old the track is. Reminds me of Desert Planet from Finland - also great stuff worth checking out.

It's been a while since I uploaded anything, but I bought the new Lindstrøm (of L. and Prins Thomas) album today and thought I could share. This track stands out from the others being the only one with vocals, it's got deep throbbing bass and 80's synth stabs - I think it's excellent. Anyhow, posting Lindstrøm should be pretty safe I guess :)

Swedish Pop princess Robyn alongside Jenny Wilson, doing a cover of the Saul Williams' song, recorded from a tv show. This is great, very catchy, and I've have been listening to it over and over again the last week - just had to share. Hey, you can watch the video as well.

From the latest batch on the awesome Micromusic.net - bass-heavy stomper not exactly regular 8-bit stuff, very groovy and smooth.

Also check out Music for Joggers, the latest release from the Microshop, nice track from Tokyomatik there as well...
